There are two programs that help - a WIC program for farm market use. (Women, Infants and Children program is a nationwide government initiative that helps welfare mothers with preschoolers and while pregnant get food) The farm market coupons can only be used on farm markets).
A new program being tested in Atlanta - when a welfare recipient presents a voucher, the market doubles the value. It is new this year, and more can be heard by listening to America's Home Grown Veggie Show for last Saturday. (www.radiosandysprings.com weekly shows, saturday). One of the markets that has just received the grant talks about it.</description>

		<description>I enjoyed your posting very much.  On argument #7 I want to add that spending more on food is not necessary a bad thing if you consider the quality of the food you are getting.  Eating well makes one healthy so spending more on it may reduce the medical cost in the long run, not to mention the happiness comes with it.</description>
